JCL Logistics acquires DMH Möbeltransport

On 1 January 2023, JCL Logistics will acquire DMH Möbeltransport und Service GmbH & Co. KG, based in Kiel (Germany). With this step, the international logistics service provider, headquartered in Baar (Switzerland), expands its B2C offering in northern Germany, particularly in Schleswig-Holstein and Greater Hamburg. In the future, JCL will have approximately 7,500 sqm of warehouse space for the B2C business in this region.

JCL’s B2C division specialises in logistics solutions for deliveries to end customers. These solutions include, for example, the delivery and assembly of new furniture and fitness equipment as well as eBikes, bicycles, large electrical appliances and commercial furnishings. DMH is primarily active in the delivery as well as on-site assembly of office furnishings and other new furniture.

The goal is to gradually integrate DMH’s business activities into the JCL network. The DMH site in Kiel will remain fully operational after the acquisition, and all employees will be retained. The DMH vehicle fleet will also continue to be utilised. In the future, JCL’s B2C team in Kiel will consist of 40 employees who will be supported by more than 60 subcontractors specialising in delivery runs and assembly.

Dietger Koppe, Managing Director at DMH, will support the integration for at least three months and is expected to retire on 31 March 2023.

The B2C segment is one of JCL Logistics’ fastest growing lines of business. With the integration of DMH, the company continues to implement its goal of offering end customers complete solutions from a single source.
